Description

In this course you will learn the skills required for hedgelaying, understand how hedgelaying should be carried out correctly and why it helps to maintain biodiversity. Southern Counties style hedgelaying will be taught.


This is a training day where practical work will be carried out. It is a practical based training event with emphasis on gaining skills and basic knowledge to carry out this type of work competently. Please come prepared for the weather.

Objectives
By the end of the course you will be able to:
• Understand the importance of laying hedges & their subsequent management needs.
• Understand the correct & safe methods of using hand-tools to lay a hedge.
• Understand the principles of hedgelaying in the ‘Southern Counties’ style.
• Have learnt new & developed existing practical skills.
