England - Conserving Cheshires Pondscape

   NB0896     Fri 10 Oct 2008  to  Sun 12 Oct 2008
With nearly 17,000 ponds supporting over 1000 plant and animal species, Cheshire’s ‘pondscape’ is an internationally valuable resource for landscape and biodiversity. Sustaining this resource involves a combination of creating new ponds and sensitively managing existing ones.

This weekend will give you the chance to learn about the history and wildlife of Cheshire’s ponds and contribute towards securing their future.

Our accommodation for the weekend will be a residential centre which has dormitories with bunks, showers, a well equipped kitchen, and a communal dining and lounge area.

Linked training event: This weekend holiday follows on from an NCFE certificated ‘Pond Management’ training course being run on Friday 10 October. If you are interested in attending this course please contact BTCV’s Northern Training Administrator on 01772 204651 or e-mail: northern-training@btcv.org.uk
