- This grows in hedgerows, roadsides and open woodlands, as well as occasionally in grasslands. This is a vigorous, even invasive, plant and should be planted on its own at the edge of the garden, or amongst equally aggressive plants. It is attractive to bees and the spotted fritillary caterpillar.
